Schedule: 3x12, Days (7a-7p), Rotating Weekends

More about our team

Our Post‑Surgical Medical–Surgical Unit is a 32‑bed inpatient unit specializing in the care of patients recovering from general, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures. The unit also supports medical–surgical overflow as needed. Nurses on this unit typically manage a 1:6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, providing comprehensive postoperative monitoring, pain management, and coordinated interdisciplinary care.

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies medical surgical needs
  • Performs post operative assessments
  • Performs wound care
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Assists in multidisciplinary collaborations

What we're looking for

  • Applicants should have a current Alabama or compact state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Basic Life Support required
  • ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred
  • Experience preferred, but new grads welcomed to apply.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a current Alabama or compact state RN license and possess at least an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Basic Life Support certification is required, while experience is preferred but not mandatory for new graduates.
