About the role

The Nurse Tech assists with sanitizing surgical rooms, stocking supplies, and providing direct support for patient recovery and care. They also perform basic nursing tasks, monitor patient vitals, and provide administrative support at the unit secretary desk.

About the Unit Our Labor and Delivery Unit within Butterworth Hospital, it is a fast paced procedural unit, similar to a surgical environment.

We have 28 Beds, 11 Triage (5 Prep & Recovery Bays, 3 ORs) and we average 8,000 births per year.

Scope of work In this unit Nurse Techs help sanitize the OR rooms with the RNs, help with stocking, help with mom recoveries, help clean up babies, and get baby vitals, help position patients, transport, patients, and they help cover the Unit Secretary desk during lunches or sick days.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider, you'll be performing basic nursing skills, observing patients, and communicating those observations to the other members of the team.

You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days of hire​ Over 1 year of relevant bedside care experience strongly preferred

Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire. Over one year of relevant bedside care experience is strongly preferred.
