Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Bilingual Russian/English Location: Brooklyn, NY Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri between 8:30am-5:30pm Organization: New York Health (NYH) In This Role, You Will: Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments Escort patients to exam rooms Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets Assist physician with exams and/or procedures Prepare and administer Injections Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens Perform point of care lab testing Perform EKGs Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error Be cross-trained in infusion & intake We Require: Current NYS LPN license required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required IV Competency required Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals Experience with EMR’s Reliable transportation to any of NYH locations for patient care needs Bilingual Russian/English required
