Limited Practice Technologist (LPT) | RT Student Layton Hospital | Layton, Utah Location: Layton Hospital Status: PRN, As Needed Pay: Why Join Us? Are you currently working toward your Radiologic Technologist (RT) credential and looking to gain valuable hands-on experience while completing your education? Intermountain Health is seeking a Limited Practice Technologist (LPT) to join our Imaging team at Layton Hospital. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced imaging professionals, build clinical experience, and continue developing the skills needed for advancement into a Registered Radiologic Technologist position upon completion of your program and registry requirements. Job Essentials Under the scope of your Utah LPT license and department guidelines, you will: Perform radiologic exams within your approved scope of practice. Ensure proper patient identification and order verification. Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures. Produce high-quality diagnostic images while following radiation safety standards. Educate patients regarding exams and address patient concerns. Accurately document procedures and maintain imaging records. Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, providers, and other caregivers to deliver exceptional patient care. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment. Continue developing clinical competencies while progressing through an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Minimum Qualifications

Current Utah Limited Practical Radiologic Technologist (LPT) license or Limited Scope Operator license. Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with the intent to obtain ARRT certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Demonstrated competency in at least one approved LPT examination area. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time. For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
