About the role

Provide medical rehabilitation care for adult patients within the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and nursing staff to establish and maintain patient care plans and achieve desired clinical outcomes.

Western Maryland Physician Services is hiring a Casual Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to help support their Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU).

  • Details: The Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU) is CARF-accredited in Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation and Stroke Specialty Program for Adults. As part of the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute, this 13-bed unit provides medical rehabilitation in a hospital setting for adults who need coordinated therapy, nursing care, and physician oversight after illness, injury, or stroke. Responsibilities

Licensure, Education, Certifications, and Clearances Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required BSN, MSN is preferred Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania state board of nursing Current CPR certification is required Act 33 Clearance will be required Act 73 Clearance will be required Act 34 Clearance required Physician Assistant (PA): A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required BS or MS candidate is preferred Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required Current CPR certification is required Act 33 Clearance will be required Act 73 Clearance will be required Act 34 Clearance required Masters degree in Nurse Practitioner Program (Maryland Approved) required

The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required , State of Maryland National board certification, eligible for licensure by Maryland board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Maryland state board of nursing Current CPR certification is required *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
