About the role

The Radiologic Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic imaging examinations for inpatient, outpatient, and emergent patients. They also collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure accurate patient data, proper image archiving, and effective patient education.

Job Overview

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our imaging department at our Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN.

This is a .7 FTE (56 hours every two weeks) position.

The shift length will be 8 hours primarily on the day shift.

Included is a weekend rotation every 6th week.

Southdale offers 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients.

The position in the General Radiology department would offer imaging care to in-patients, out-patients, emergent patients, as well as supporting cases in the OR.

The technologists work collaboratively within the Imaging team and amongst varying levels of clinical practitioners.

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus that is prorated based on experience.

Responsibilities

Maintains patient care Performs examinations Identifies relevant data from images accurately. Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol. Ensures patient data integrity Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving Participates as an active team member Orients and mentors new employees and students Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies Provides integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care. Required Qualifications ARRT Radiology Tech Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications: 1 year experience as a technologist

Requirements

Candidates must hold an ARRT Radiology Tech certification and Basic Life Support certification. One year of experience as a technologist is preferred.
