The nursing assistant provides direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility assistance, and comfort measures under the supervision of licensed staff. They also perform routine clinical tasks such as monitoring vital signs, collecting specimens, and documenting patient data.
Provide complete patient care and comfort, including bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, repositioning, dressing, mobility assistance, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Perform and document routine clinical tasks such as vital signs, weights, intake and output, specimen collection, and basic treatments as directed by nursing staff. Assist patients with meals, feeding as needed, and distribute nourishments and fresh water. Support patient mobility and recovery by assisting with transfers, bed positioning, exercises, and application of ordered devices (e.g., elastic stockings, ice packs). Respond promptly and courteously to call lights, assess patient needs, and communicate concerns to appropriate healthcare team members. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and a current AHA BLS certification. Completion of a Basic Nursing Assistant Program is preferred, along with strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients.
