Job Title Clinical Technician - Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit Location Stuart Facility Martin Health North Department MMC CV PCU-Cleveland Clinic Martin Health Job Code 000849 Shift Nights Schedule 6:00pm-6:30am Job Summary Job Details Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department.

Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.

With a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU), Martin North Hospital is considered the cardiac hub of Cleveland Clinic Martin Health.

As a Clinical Technician on the CVPCU team, you will support your fellow caregivers and medical staff by providing patients with top-quality care following surgical operations and procedures.

Under the supervision of an RN, you will utilize your technical and applicable skills to enhance the patient experience and create a welcoming, healing environment.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:00PM – 6:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, application of external monitoring devices and inserting urinary Foley Catheters.

Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.

Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

Complete an internal training program within two weeks of hire.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required prior to hire Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.

Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
