About the role

The Nursing Assistant Trainee assists with elder care, including meal preparation, housekeeping, and non-essential nursing tasks. They also provide companionship and support to ensure a safe and clean environment for elders within the facility.

The Nursing Assistant Trainee is involved in the educational process to learn basic skills in the care of the elders using practices established in this facility by a State approved Nurse Aide Training Program.

The Nursing Assistant Trainee at Providence Seward Mountain Haven assists with maintaining a clean environment within the Lodge, transporting elders, assisting with meal preparation and set-up, and providing meaningful activities. This position may serve as elder companion to promote safety in situations where more direct observation is needed. The purpose of this position is to augment dining, housekeeping, and non-essential nursing functions during peak work times. This position works directly with elders, families, and staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of Green House® Philosophy of Care, Caring Reliably, Culinary training, ServSafe, Dining Assistance within four months of hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months Nursing aid, nursing assistant, or personal care attendant

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
