About the role

The Clinical Pharmacist provides high-quality, individualized pharmaceutical care and operational services in collaboration with the healthcare team. They work directly with ED physicians at the bedside to evaluate patient needs and provide expert drug therapy and dosing recommendations.

The Clinical Pharmacist has the responsibility for the provision of high-quality, individualized, cost-effective pharmaceutical care and integrated pharmacy operational services in collaboration with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and quality of life. Pharmacists work closely with our ED physicians at the bedside to evaluate patient needs, comorbidities and provide recommendations for drug therapy and dosing. The Covenant ED is a Level 2 Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center making it a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients that require expert clinical pharmacist support.

Required Qualifications

  • PharmD in Pharmacy or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Upon hire: Texas Pharmacist Registered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Acute Care Hospital Pharmacy experience, 1 year or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and possess a Texas Pharmacist registration upon hire. Preferred qualifications include one year of acute care hospital pharmacy experience and completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency.
