The Occupational Therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to improve patient functional mobility and daily living skills. They also provide education to patients and families while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure effective care delivery.
Overview Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve functional mobility, relieve pain, improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury and help build or restore vocational/ daily living skills as well as general independence. Education Bachelor's Degree (Required) Master's Degree (Preferred) Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapist Certification/Licensure Occupational Therapist License (Required) Experience Provides age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers. Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members. Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions in accordance with accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures. Provides effective instruction to the patient and family through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training. Initiate, develop, and maintain collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and family members to improve patient outcomes. Productive and efficient in daily operations. Selects and performs the appropriate assessment procedures. Establishes and updates formal plan of care to address individual patient needs.
