About the role

The Surgical Tech Coordinator collaborates with the surgical team to manage preoperative patient needs and coordinate instrumentation and supplies. They are responsible for planning and implementing effective patient care during surgical procedures while maintaining proficiency in scrub and circulating duties.

Full Time, Days The Surgical Technologist Coordinator in Surgery works collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia personnel, and other health team members to determine the patient’s individual preoperative needs, serving as the main resource person for instrumentation, equipment, supplies, and procedures within the assigned surgical specialty. The Surgical Technologist Coordinator also assumes responsibility for planning, implementation, and coordinating the effectiveness of patient care intraoperatively. In addition, he/she will be knowledgeable about scrub and circulating duties and will participate in the on-call schedule as assigned.

Qualifications: Education:

Minimum: Post high school, vocational/specialized training required for CST or CSFA

Experience: Two years of OR experience

Required certification/Licensure/Registration: AHA BLS Certification Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)

Requirements

Candidates must possess a post-high school vocational or specialized training and hold a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential. A minimum of two years of operating room experience and current AHA BLS certification are required.
