The Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic imaging examinations including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs to assist in patient diagnosis. They are responsible for patient preparation, ensuring radiation safety, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.Every day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.To be successful, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

Assesses patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures.

Provides a clear explanation of the procedure including; duration, process, and what to expect following completion.

Provides patient education as appropriate.

Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.

Selects proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gathers proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure.

Recognizes all radiation safety standards including “Image Gently” and “Image Wisely”.

Understands and follows all rules around radiation protection including wearing of lead protection when there is a possibility of exposure.

Obtains clear and complete history from the patient and/or patient record and records that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters.

Job Requirements Required Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program, upon hire Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and Medical Radiographer: NE, upon hire

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of a Radiologic Technology program and hold ARRT registration. Additionally, they are required to possess Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and a Nebraska Medical Radiographer license.
