IV Pharmacy Technician
The IV Pharmacy Technician is responsible for mixing sterile IV preparations and maintaining clean room environments according to USP-797 standards. They also manage drug inventory, perform environmental monitoring, and ensure accurate documentation of patient profiles and lab results.
ContinuumRx, the nation’s leading JV specialty and home infusion therapy expert, is seeking full-time (Certified) IV Pharmacy Technicians to add to our Nashville Team. The ideal candidate needs to possess strong interpersonal skills, have an energetic self-starter personality, and exhibits compassion in caring for people.
Mixes IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques. Adheres to all documented instructions, warnings, and procedures and best practices to ensure safe and effective drug preparation.
Performs environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing and other activities as required by applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797.
Maintains accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting and tracking drug items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Enters home medication list and lab results into CPR+ for the patient's profile (when available).
Cleans ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards.
Maintain clean room logs.
Verifying lot numbers and performing a periodic check in inventory.
Availability for assisting with On-Call responsibilities, as needed. ("Taking Call/Being On-Call")
Employees in staff positions will be required to successfully complete a competency verification plan upon hire and annually thereafter.
The objective of the annual competency re-verification is to focus on familiarity and compliance with ContinuumRx policies and procedures and applicable federal, state and/or regulatory standards.
Complete understanding of confidentiality with respect to Company proprietary information as well as information concerning patient/client care; complying with all federal and state laws as apply to confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI); and following HIPAA guidelines regarding readily identifiable protected health information.
Candidates must hold an active pharmacy technician license and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Experience in pharmacy or home infusion therapy is preferred, along with proficiency in computer systems like Windows and Office.
