The Speech/Language Pathologist provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with speech, language, hearing, or swallowing disorders. They are responsible for developing care plans, coordinating with healthcare teams, and educating patients and families throughout the recovery process.

CentraState Medical Center has an employment opportunity available for a Speech/Language Pathologist.

This role is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients who exhibit speech, language, hearing, or swallowing disorders.

The Speech/Language Pathologist also offers patient and family counseling and makes appropriate referrals as needed to support comprehensive care and recovery.

Responsibilities

Effectively evaluates the patient's performance in any communicative disorders. Develops appropriate therapeutic plan based on patient assessment and physician's orders. Observes patient/resident progress and updates plan as indicated. Provides therapy for all types of speech language hearing and swallowing disorders. Coordinates care plan with other healthcare providers. Provides education to the patient/family regarding the disease processes and planned treatment/intervention. Provides instruction in the areas of health promotion, activity and medication as appropriate. Evaluates the patient's progress, goal attainment and need for further services following discharge. Documents results of diagnostic evaluations, care plan and Resident progress in medical record. Maintains productivity within guidelines set by department.

Qualifications

Master's degree in speech pathology required Minimum one year or experience in rehabilitation with adult speech/language-impaired populations preferred NJ Speech Pathology license required. CCC-SLP required. Strong customer service skills. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in speech pathology and possess a valid New Jersey Speech Pathology license. A Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is required, along with at least one year of rehabilitation experience.
