Job Summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Radiologic Tech for our Radiology department located within the Dearborn Hospital

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment safely, effectively, and efficiently while producing high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.

This role requires proficiency in all ordered X-ray procedures, including the selection of appropriate exposure factors to minimize radiation dosage and ensure patient safety.

The technologist must adhere to all medical center, state, and federal safety standards and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care.

Responsibilities also include utilizing computerized systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations, accurately obtaining and documenting patient information, and ensuring proper procedure coding, charging, and modifier application.

The technologist reviews images for quality and participates in quality control, quality assurance, quality improvement, and accreditation activities as needed.

Additionally, the role involves performing routine equipment maintenance and cleaning, reporting malfunctions to leadership and clinical engineering, and following departmental disinfecting and infection prevention protocols.

The Radiologic Technologist performs all duties with a commitment to excellence in patient care, regulatory compliance, and departmental standards, while supporting other initiatives and responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses

  • Education and

  • Credentials:
  • Graduate of an approved accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
  • CPR certified
  • ARRT(R) registered or eligible (see below for individual state requirements)
  • State Licensure:
  • Kentucky
  • KBMIRT Radiation Operator's License - Radiography (Temporary or Permanent)
  • Associate has 12 months from the issuance of a Temporary KBMIRT Radiation Operator’s License – Radiography to obtain ARRT(R).
  • Indiana
  • Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License – (Radiologic Technologist or Radiology Student Permit)
  • Associate has 6 months from the issuance of a Radiology Student Permit to obtain ARRT(R).

Specialized Knowledge

  • Excellent understanding of radiation protection of patients, peers, and self.
  • Competence in routine, fluoroscopic, surgical and trauma radiography.

• Adequate clinical experience from an approved program.
