The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and adherence to radiation protection standards. They are responsible for preparing patients, maintaining equipment, and documenting procedures accurately within a medical office setting.
The Registered Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes and fulfilling the goals and objectives of Advanced Pain Care.
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology Current registration with ARRT and successful completion of Basic Life Support Three to five years of radiologic technologist experience preferred DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Performs diagnostic procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care Utilizes proper positioning of patients, proper image identification, professional patient care and assessment and maintains proper documentation Prepares patients for exams by communicating the need to remove garments or jewelry that may interfere with procedure, and explaining how the process works Adheres to medical and standard precautions as required per procedure Performs clerical duties, transports patients as required and processes images Administers contrast media and other medications as directed Assists with quality control/performance improvement, including maintaining radiographic equipment Closely follows provider instructions and apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the process in order to help provider diagnose problems Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and ensure safety of patients and staff members Monitor video display of area being scanned and monitor patients’ conditions and reactions to procedures, reporting abnormal signs to physician Adheres to all Advanced Pain Care policies and procedures Has regular and predictable attendance Performs other duties as assigned
