COTAs perform patient-related tasks assigned by the therapist, including but not limited to: Under the direct supervision of licensed OT, assists with the implementation of therapy plan of care in the Day Room Setting Responsible for delegation an direction of support personnel for those assigned patients, in order to enhance patient care services in the Day Room Setting Participates in education of patients, families, coworkers, and self Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, within the scope of practice Assists patients to/from mats, wheelchairs, other equipment as appropriate; assist patients with transfer activities Assists with patient-related treatment activities as appropriate Engages with patients, supporting therapeutic goals in individual and group settings; Task initiation and group facilitation Documentation and billing/charging of skilled activities as applicable Upgrading and downgrading tasks for patient engagement Plans and transports for Community Reintegration Outings Maintains the clinic and clinic equipment in a clean and orderly condition Transports patients to /from therapy as needed
Education: Associate's Degree in an OT Assistant program required Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification Current State Driver’s License in good standing required: Acquisition of a Class E license allowing for the operation of the bus
CPR certification First aid certification Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy center Additional Data Equal Opportunity Employer/including Disabled/Veterans
