Description Summary/Objective Performs quality treadmills in order to assist the physician to evaluate the cardiac status of the patient. Essential Functions Orientates patients to the testing procedure Provides instructions and responds to question Prepares patient and equipment in order to perform test. Accurately obtains baseline vital signs and documents them Prepares skin and applies electrodes Ensures equipment is ready for testing Assists in the performance of the test Obtains BP and EKG tracings Monitors patients ability to sustain treadmill speed Follows physician orders to properly complete the stress test Ensures patient safety Prepares final report for the HER Records tracings Prepares report based on study information obtained during testing Types report for final placement in the EHR Prepares chart prep for office patients
Required Education and Experience High school graduate or GED equivalent and Completion of a Medical Assistant program. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. CPR within 90 days of employment. Preferred Education and Experience One year experience in either stress testing, EKG or other cardiac related field Additional Eligibility Qualifications Keyboarding skills and computer literate.
