Performs as a Unit Secretary at least 50% of the time and functions as a Nursing Assistant as assigned. Performs clerical and reception duties to maintain efficient operation of the department. Assists in the continuity of patient care delivery within an assigned area by providing direct personal care, rehabilitative measures, and supportive services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate or GED equivalent with average reading, writing and oral communications skills Working knowledge of direct patient care Basic knowledge of Unit Secretary functions Successful completion of one of the following: Nursing Assistant Program Medical Assistant Program Equivalent work history in a patient care environment Rotation with total patient care at Nursing School EMT Training Licensure/Registration/Certification: BLS - American Heart Association Desired Qualifications Working knowledge of Unit Secretary functions Desired licensure, Registration, Certification Certified Nursing Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or EMT program. A BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
