Unit Technician
The Unit Technician performs clerical and reception duties to ensure efficient department operations while serving as a Unit Secretary. Additionally, the role provides direct personal care, rehabilitative measures, and supportive services to assist in patient care delivery.
Performs as a Unit Secretary at least 50% of the time and functions as a Nursing Assistant as assigned. Performs clerical and reception duties to maintain efficient operation of the department. Assists in the continuity of patient care delivery within an assigned area by providing direct personal care, rehabilitative measures, and supportive services.
Demonstrates written, interpersonal, or communication skills as appropriate to position Working knowledge of direct patient care Basic knowledge of Unit Secretary functions Successful completion of one of the following: Nursing Assistant Program Medical Assistant Program Equivalent work history in a patient care environment Rotation with total patient care at Nursing School EMT Training Licensure/Registration/Certification: BLS - American Heart Association Desired Qualifications: Working knowledge of Unit Secretary functions Licensure, Registration, Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant
Candidates must possess basic knowledge of unit secretary functions and direct patient care, supported by successful completion of a relevant training program such as Nursing Assistant or EMT. A BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required for this position.
