Performs duties under the direct supervision of an anesthesia provider and/or RN. The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for assisting anesthesia providers in various settings. The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for the following: Collaborates with the Charge Nurse in surgical and procedural areas to prioritize room turnover and set-up of anesthesia equipment and supplies for procedures with efficient and effective use of available resources. Encourages regular communication, informs lead anesthesia tech and nursing staff of relevant workflow issues. Maintains proficiency and provides support in the application, preparation, and troubleshooting of various types of equipment required for the delivery of anesthesia care. To clean, prepare for sterilization, assemble, store, stock, orders, and maintain equipment and supplies for the anesthesia department including pre-mixed IV solutions and medications. Experience 2-3 years’ experience in an Operating Room, PACU, or Critical Care area of an acute care hospital as a Nursing Assistant, Orderly, or Patient Care Tech required. Previous Respiratory Therapy or Anesthesia Technician experience preferred. Knowledge of materials management, stocking, and inventory processes preferred. Must have basic computer skills. Education High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred. Licensure/Certifications American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
