Direct Support Professional

Job Title: Direct Support Professional
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will be a crucial part of our mission by delivering personalized, compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Your role will include: Providing direct care: Assist individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration. De-escalation Management: Implement strategies that foster positive behaviors and reduce challenging ones, helping individuals thrive in a safe environment. Empowering Participation: Support individuals in engaging in social and recreational activities that enhance their quality of life.
Work hand-in-hand with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and goals to ensure individuals receive the best care possible.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need a passion for helping others and a dedication to making a difference. We’re looking for candidates who are: High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications or education in social work, nursing, or related fields is a plus. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is highly preferred. Knowledge of behavior management techniques and the ability to implement them effectively. A valid Driver's License with reliable transportation and insurance to travel to client homes or community events. Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed, and work physically demanding tasks (specific lifting requirements may vary). Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life. A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor: Your heart should be as strong as your commitment to providing care. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
