The Echo Technologist oversees technical procedures and performs a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing in the echocardiography laboratory. They are responsible for maintaining high-quality imaging standards, documenting patient data, and participating in an on-call rotation.

Overview The Echo Technologist oversees technical procedures, patient care and work flows in the echocardiography laboratory. Perform a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing. Assist performing physicians and sonographers in providing high quality echocardiographic exams. ****This position qualifies for a sign-on bonus and relocation if moving 50+ miles!!!!!

Responsibilities

Essential Functions Performs routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines. Demonstrates acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors and alignment. Reviews patient data for accuracy, quality and completeness. Documents accurately and completely. Cross-trains to other divisions of CV Services. Department Specific Job Function Administers contrast when needed and not contraindicated. Completes documentation of studies performed and charges in Epic as well as complete preliminary info in Xcelera system for Physician reading. Is included in a rotation of call thru the week and on weekends with other Team members. Is Team minded and provides compassionate care and quality studies to our community of patients. Performs all forms of Echo testing (Exercise Stress; Dobutamine stress; Echoes; Pediatric echoes; Tranesophageal echoes) in a timely fashion. Seeks to advance their knowledge in all aspects of Echo with an open mind to constructive learning and teaching.

Qualifications

Education Level Field of Study Associate's Degree Sonography Or Certificate of Completion Related Field Licenses/Certifications Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) And Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA) Point of Care Testing Yes Tests Performed: Performs only those CLIA tests that are authorized by the laboratory director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individual's education, training or experience, and technical abilities. Lab Procedures: Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Record Maintenance: Maintains records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples. Quality Control: Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed. Corrective Action Policies: Follow the laboratory's established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance. Corrective Action Documentation: Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications Problem Identification: Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the technical consultant, clinical consultant or director Experience Requirement Work Experience Length of Experience Previous healthcare 1+ years Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements Positive attitude and proven willingness to assess and improve work environment. Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $36.78per hour - $63.26per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model. Requirements

Candidates must hold an Associate's degree in Sonography or a related field and possess RCIS certification. At least one year of previous healthcare experience is required, along with BLS certification.
