Cardiac Pacemaker Tech
The Cardiac Pacemaker Tech is responsible for analyzing remote transmissions from pacemakers and ICDs while maintaining accurate patient records in the EHR. They also coordinate device clinic activities, assist with remote connectivity, and collaborate with medical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
The nature of the duties is to review and analyze remote loop recorder, pacemaker and ICD (defibrillator) transmissions with documentation requirements. This will include communication of device information to and from all clinics, and collaboration with nurses and doctors.

Obtain the hospital pacemaker implant record/post op hospital record and upload to the EHR; Verify all new patients are scheduled for appropriate follow up post implant.

Log all the implantable device patients in device clinic data management software.
3.
Coordinate and manage patients in the device clinic data management software, as well as integrate and manage patients in multi vendor’s websites.
4.
Assist with remote monitor connectivity and answer patient calls regarding device management.
5.
Check “end of life” patients from all clinics, arrange for office visits and interrogations as necessary.
6.
Review and analyze remote implantable device transmissions of multiple models and vendors, recognize arrhythmias, battery status and any lead data available on the implantable device.
7.
Schedule device check and remote transmission appointments for patients.
8.
Manage inquiries via email or EHR from all clinics about patients with implantable devices.

Familiar with ECG and cardiac rhythm recognition, including basic arrhythmias.

Exhibits good communication skills with physicians, patients, team leaders, and co-workers at all times.
7. Exhibits whenever possible a harmonious relationship with other MCI employees in order to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the position. While perfect harmonious relationships with all employees is sometimes not achievable, not more than an occasional complaint should be received by the team leader about the incumbent of this position.
8. The employee shall work and relate cooperatively with all other employees (internal customers) of MCI to assure optimum care for the patients of MCI and to achieve standards of care set forth by the MCI medical staff.
9. Adheres to the MCI Compliance Plan as it pertains to the above specific job duties. Uses best efforts to maintain compliance by following the MCI Corporate Compliance Plan, attending MCI compliance education, following medical documentation guidelines, and communicating concerns regarding compliance issues.
10. Performs accurate and complete documentation in the patient’s medical record, when applicable. This includes documentation in both the paper record and the electronic medical record (EMR).
11. Work with the electronic medical record (EMR) staff to maintain quality and work towards future EMR development.
12. Maintains patient confidentiality according to the HIPAA standards of privacy and security.
Qualifications: For the position:
1. High school diploma.
2. Telemetry Technician experience preferred.
3. Must have EKG knowledge.
The position requires a high school diploma and knowledge of EKG and cardiac rhythm recognition. Previous experience as a Telemetry Technician is preferred.
