Kindred Hospital - San Antonio Central is a long-term acute care hospital located at 111 Dallas Street, 4th Floor, Building C, in San Antonio, Texas. It’s designed for patients who need extended recovery time after intensive care, especially those with complex medical conditions like respiratory failure, sepsis, or stroke.

The hospital offers a range of services including intensive care, telemetry-level monitoring, wound care, infectious disease management, and rehabilitation for brain injuries and cardiac conditions.

It’s certified by The Joint Commission for Long-Term Acute Care and has earned disease-specific certifications in Respiratory Failure and Wound Care, reflecting its commitment to high-quality, evidence-based treatment.

How you’ll contribute

The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders, supporting patient recovery and communication improvement.

Essential Functions

Assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities.

Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs.

Provide education to patients and families regarding therapy goals.

Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress accurately.

Collaborate with healthcare teams on care coordination.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

• Strong communication skills and clinical judgement required.

Qualifications

and requirements:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience: Experience in acute or rehab setting preferred.
  • License: Current SLP license and ASHA certification.
  • Certifications: CPR certification required.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and possess a current SLP license and ASHA certification. Experience in an acute or rehabilitation setting is preferred, along with a current CPR certification.
