Why Our Veterinary Technicians & Assistants Love It Here Four-day workweeks No nights, weekends, or holidays Consistent scheduling that supports a healthy work-life balance Actual lunch breaks A supportive, team-oriented hospital culture Opportunities to use and strengthen your technical skills Mentorship and professional development opportunities Continuing education support Leadership that values teamwork, communication, and excellent patient care A workplace where your personality and contributions are appreciated What Our Veterinary Technicians & Assistants Do Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients Safely handle and restrain patients while prioritizing their comfort and well-being Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and relevant medical information Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection based on experience and skill level Collect and process laboratory samples and assist with in-house diagnostic testing Obtain diagnostic radiographs and maintain imaging standards Support surgical procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and instrument care Monitor patient vital signs and communicate changes promptly to the veterinarian Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts Educate clients with compassion and clarity regarding medications, treatments, preventive care, and discharge instructions Keep treatment and exam areas clean, stocked, organized, and ready for patient care Anticipate the needs of veterinarians and teammates to promote efficiency and exceptional patient care What You’ll Bring Previous Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant experience Veterinary Technician licensure or credentialing is welcomed but not required Strong animal-handling and patient-care skills Confidence assisting with examinations, treatments, and procedures Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic imaging appropriate to your skill level Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery Strong communication and client-education skills Compassion and empathy for patients, clients, coworkers, and yourself Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a busy environment Reliability, organization, and good time-management skills A positive, supportive, team-first mindset A willingness to share your knowledge, skills, and experience with others—Spidey powers are also welcome The ability to tolerate frequent puppy kisses and kitty headbutts A commitment to continued learning and professional growth A genuine passion for veterinary medicine and exceptional patient care The Extras You’ll Actually Feel At Animal Care Clearfield, we believe remarkable results happen when people work together with kindness, respect, and a shared commitment to great medicine.
