Position Overview As a Chemotherapy Prep Technician, you will be responsible for the accurate and prompt preparation and dispensing of chemotherapeutic intravenous admixtures and other medications. You will work under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Services to ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and clinical standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare chemotherapy and other IVs for patient administration Restock drug orders and supplies Monitor drug inventory and maintain inventory logs Clean and maintain pharmacy equipment and workspaces Restock and maintain crash carts, extravasation kits, and tackle boxes Communicate effectively with pharmacists to verify orders Comply with USP 797/800 standards for sterile compounding Attend scheduled staff meetings Maintain professional demeanor and confidentiality Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent 2-3 years of IV mixing and related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Licensure/Certification: PTCB certified (or equivalent) State Board of Pharmacy registration in the applicable state Skills & Abilities: Excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills Strong mathematical proficiency and computer literacy Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of medication dosing, pharmacy law, and medical terminology Why West Cancer Center is a Great Place to Work Meaningful Impact: Play a direct role in supporting patients through one of the most challenging times of their lives.
