We have been offering services in optometry, cataract surgery, cornea, retina, and glaucoma treatment, oculoplastics, and pediatric ophthalmology for 50 years! As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmology clinics.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
  • Patient
  • Work-Up: Conduct basic patient assessments, including visual acuity tests, intraocular pressure measurements, and dilation.
  • Testing and
  • Evaluation: Perform a range of tests such as confrontation visual fields, cover testing, and versions, and assist in manifest refractions.
  • Patient
  • Interaction: Greet patients warmly, explain testing procedures, answer questions, and provide necessary education.
  • Team
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our clinical support team and providers to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.
  • Safety and
  • Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by recognizing and addressing common safety hazards.

Documentation

  • Utilize our EMR system to accurately record patient data and ensure it’s ready for provider review.
  • QualificationsEducation: High school diploma is required; some college or a degree is preferred. Certification as a COA or COT is a plus.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment. A combination of experience, education, and/or training which substantially demonstrates the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
