About the role

The Speech-Language Pathologist will evaluate residents' communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. They will also document resident progress and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

Description We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at a beautiful Assisted Living community with Memory Care in Kansas City, KS.

The Speech Language Pathologist will develop individualized treatment plans, provide skilled speech-language pathology services, monitor resident progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

Resident Assessment and Treatment: Evaluate residents' communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities. Establish and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and goals to improve function, independence, and quality of life.

Documentation

  • Complete timely and accurate evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, and discharge summaries in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).

Licensure

Valid Speech-Language Pathologist state license or license eligibility.

Skills

  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills. Proficient in developing and implementing effective treatment plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Requirements: Ability to assist residents as needed and perform physical tasks related to therapy. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility as required.

Technology

Computer proficiency and ability to document in an electronic medical record platform.

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and possess a valid state license or eligibility. A Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or eligibility for a Clinical Fellowship Year is required.
