  • RESPONSIBILITIES: Must ensure compliance with federal, state, and interagency regulations Model and enforce Lifeways’ policies and procedures in a fair manner Must model the culture of excellent customer service as adapted by Lifeways, as well as Lifeways Mission Statement and Core Values. Under general supervision, assess client needs and function level. Provides individualized case management to clients in the community. Make appropriate referrals. Provides some individual and group counseling and education and support to clients and families, skills training and outreach to client homes, Community Corrections, and the Malheur County Jail. Acts as liaison and provides consultation, education and information to community agencies that routinely come in contact with individuals with mental or emotional disturbances. Crisis Worker Duties Screen client’s for risk of harm to self or others using standardized assessment tools. Complete crisis assessments as defined in Lifeways policy and outlined by OARs. Crisis assessments will be completed in the office, community, and community partner locations. Make recommendation for appropriate follow up care based on crisis assessment findings in collaboration with clients’ treatment team. Complete crisis follow up during appropriate timeframes to facilitate client’s access to needed resources for immediate safety and mental health stability. Coordinate referrals to acute psychiatric treatment as deemed necessary by compiling and sharing required documentation, with approval from the Lifeways Executive Director for Malheur County. Complete mobile crisis calls for community members, as deemed necessary through various community referral sources. Maintain and strengthen professional relationships with community partners by embodying the Lifeways values of integrity, competency, compassion, respectfulness, collaboration, strength-focus, and innovation in your work and communications. Jail Diversion Duties Attends weekly and monthly meetings with various law enforcement agencies and entities to assist with criminal justice involved clients. Conducts assessments, evaluations, therapy and consultations at the Malheur County Jail for incarcerated clients. Assesses and makes recommendations for placement of .365 and .370 clients who have committed crimes and are also mentally ill. Make diagnoses. Acts as program coordinator by assisting with program planning activities. Screens clients for program eligibility and conduct comprehensive evaluations resulting in a DSM V diagnosis. Develops diagnostic evaluations and treatment plans for clients which includes delivery of appropriate services as defined in the detailed treatment plan. Provides mental health counseling when deemed necessary in clients’ service plans. May provide consultation for chemical dependency problems, education and training for other program staff and community agencies and groups. May provide clinical review of work by other clinicians or subcontracted programs.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in a relevant field along with at least two years of experience or an equivalent combination. A valid driver's license and appropriate QMHP licensure are required to perform the duties of this professional counseling position.
