Crisis Technician (P/T-PRN)
The Crisis Technician provides direct physical care and hygiene assistance to consumers while maintaining accurate program documentation. They also support daily activities, including meal preparation, recreational group participation, and transportation services.
Description CRISIS TECHNICIAN (Part Time - PRN)
CHARACTERISTICS OF WORK The primary responsibilities include assisting consumers in all areas of physical care and assume total responsibility for the hygiene of consumers who are unable to independently perform such tasks. Other duties include assisting with daily program activities, general housekeeping assignments and food preparation and service.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains documentation as evidence that all duties are completed in accordance with program requirements contained in the Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
Maintains proper training, continuing education, qualifications, and other certifications required for this position as written in the Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
Assists consumers in all areas of physical care and hygiene as needed including but not limited to bathing, shaving and brushing teeth.
Turns and positions non-ambulatory consumers.
Maintains required documentation.
Uses appropriate behavioral management techniques when interacting with consumers.
Participates in recreational and social activities for patients as needed Prepares and participates in instructional training and groups Assists with menu and meal preparation, perform food inventory and meal service.
Provides transportation in a Region 8 vehicle for consumers as needed.
Assists with intake of new consumers.
Ensures that all consumers are monitored at all times including meals and snack.
All other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
High school diploma or equivalent. Good communication skills. Valid Mississippi Driver’s license. Must pass a criminal background check.
