About the role

The Sterile Processing Technician ensures the proper care, maintenance, and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation and equipment. They also assist the surgical staff with room turnover and the retrieval of necessary supplies.

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Tech to join our Team!

Under the supervision of Sterile Processing Manager, the Sterile Processing Tech ensures proper care and maintenance for all surgical instrumentation, equipment and sterilization processes.

Demonstrates good knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic technique.

Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, instruments, needles, procedures and supplies used in the operating room.

Assists with room turnover, retrieving of supplies for the surgical staff, and other duties as assigned.

Able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina and endurance.

Qualifications

and Preferred Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to achieve CPR certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement.
  • Previous experience is preferred.
