Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our INSPIRES program, a short-term treatment center serving male consumers.
The DSP provides protective oversight and assists consumers with daily living and life-skills development. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive treatment environment while addressing each consumer’s physical, social, health, emotional, economic, and training needs.
Education and qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Must be physically capable of assisting consumers.
Must be able to use approved verbal and physical intervention techniques when necessary to safely manage aggressive behaviors.
Must be dependable, compassionate, and able to work effectively with individuals receiving behavioral health services.
A personal communication device that allows regular contact with the supervisor is preferred.
