What you will do

The Unit Coordinator is an unlicensed worker who at the discretion of the Nurse Director / Manager may be cross-trained as a PCT. (Please refer to the PCT job description when performing those duties.) The Unit Coordinator provides clinical and clerical support to the patient and our unit, assisting the RN, director/manager, and/or technologists. They assist in the maintenance of a responsive communication system through positive interactions with our patients, guests, ancillary departments, Physicians and their peers. The Unit Coordinator may be responsible for the accurate transcription of Physician Orders and assisting the units in the planning, organization and implementation of measures to maintain a quality therapeutic environment for our units and ultimately, our patients.

What You Will Need

High school diploma or equivalent required. Prefer Medical Assistant, Unit Coordinator Associate or STNA with experience. Previous hospital and clerical experience with excellent computer skills is preferred with 1-year experience in pertinent clinical area required. Medical Terminology course is preferred.

Unit specific competencies, annual educational programs, CPR, Fit Testing, TB test, etc. (CPR/BLS Health Care Provider is required within 30 days of employment if not previously obtained) required. Attending staff meetings as directed by the Director / Manager, signing all minutes of meetings not attended, signing accountability for all posted updates such as new policies and procedures and will attend all pertinent training sessions required.

Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.

Required to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency codes.

Required to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment. Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with preference for medical assistant or STNA experience. Candidates must possess excellent computer skills and be able to obtain CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of employment.
