About the role

This role coordinates and oversees the workflow for cardiac diagnostic studies, including EKGs, stress tests, and monitors. It ensures accurate order management, timely provider interpretation, and system-wide consistency across all diagnostic processes.

This role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing workflow for EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitors, event monitors, and potential PFT reads.

Ensures accurate order management, timely completion of studies, provider sign-off, and system-wide consistency.

Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) of the following required: Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Health Sciences, Nursing, Medical Assisting, or related healthcare field. A minimum of two (2) years of healthcare experience demonstrating knowledge and skills comparable to those obtained through an Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Health Sciences, Nursing, or Medical Assisting. Minimum of three (3) years’ cardiology and EKG workflow experience required. Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification within six (6) months of hire required. Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred. Promotes excellence through setting high standards and providing high quality outcomes. Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and exhibit empathy. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently. Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed. Job Specific Duties: Ensures all cardiac diagnostic studies are accurately linked to appropriate provider orders within the EHR. Coordinates the full lifecycle of diagnostic orders, including completion, reconciliation, and closure. Identifies and resolves missing, incomplete, or incorrect orders to prevent delays in care delivery. Reviews studies for completeness and ensures readiness for timely provider interpretation. Monitors and follows up on unsigned or outstanding results to ensure prompt provider review. Coordinates daily workflow for cardiac diagnostics, including EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitors, event monitors, and applicable PFT readings. Maintains and manages tracking systems to monitor study completion, interpretation, and reporting. Ensures consistency, accuracy, and standardization of diagnostic processes across all sites. Identifies workflow inefficiencies and implements solutions to improve operational performance and turnaround times. Troubleshoot system and process issues related to ordering, documentation, and diagnostic reporting. Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and leadership to optimize workflows and improve efficiency. Train and support staff and new sites on diagnostic workflows, systems, and standardized processes as services expand. Supports, covers and works closely with the Epiphany Cloud administrator. The above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. Other duties may be assigned similar to the above consistent with knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job. Not all of the duties may be assigned to a position. Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Requirements

Candidates must possess an Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent experience, along with at least three years of cardiology and EKG workflow experience. An EKG certification is required within six months of hire, and proficiency with EHR systems is preferred.
