The Direct Support Professional provides direct care and support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and mental health challenges in various community units. They are responsible for implementing person-centered plans and assisting individuals in identifying and communicating their needs and goals.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of direct caregiving experience in an IDD setting and possess current CPR and first aid certifications. The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 70 lbs and working in various community-based units.
This position is not benefits eligible Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job included: Regularly required to lift 30 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs. Must be able to pull a minimum of 50lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
