Nurse Practitioner - Neurology
The Nurse Practitioner will perform physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans for patients within the neurology clinic. They are also responsible for prescribing medications, maintaining electronic medical records, and educating patients on their health and care plans.
Washington Regional is seeking Neurology Advanced Practice Provider to join our Washington Regional JB Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute located in Northwest Arkansas. This position is outpatient clinic only. Essential Position Responsibilities Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary Prescribe and dispense medications Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects Qualifications Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, Licensure and Certifications: Unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license and CPR, required. National certification, required.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and hold an unencumbered license with national certification. A minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience is required, with preference given to those with vascular neurology experience.
