The Rizzo laboratory at The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine - Aging Institute is seeking an exceptional, ambitious, and highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to lead an independent project investigating therapeutic interventions to prevent cognitive decline associated with normal aging and Alzheimer’s disease pathology. The lab uses preclinical model systems and translational approaches towards identifying disease and symptom-modifying mechanisms at the intersection of the divergence from healthy aging towards inception and progression of the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias. The Rizzo lab is a critical component of several NIA-funded multi-institutional consortiums including the Model Organism for the Evaluation of Late Onset Alzheimer’s Disease (MODEL-AD) Center and the Alzheimer’s Disease Translational Centers for the New Medicines Drug Discovery Consortiums (TREAT-AD). This is an excellent opportunity for creative, motivated individuals interested in therapeutic drug development for Alzheimer’s Disease to make seminal contributions to the field in supporting preclinical evaluation of potential novel therapeutic interventions as part of these consortiums.
