Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will deliver essential direct patient care under the supervision of our clinical team.
Leveraging your knowledge of basic patient care principles and medical terminology, you will perform a range of daily duties.
Every day you will actively assist patients with personal care, mobility, and feeding, monitoring vital signs, documenting observations, and maintaining a therapeutic and organized patient environment.
You will be expected to work closely with the nursing team to prepare patients for procedures or transport.
To be successful in this role requires a genuine passion for patient well-being, diligence in executing tasks, keen observational skills regarding patient conditions, and a proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.
Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested.
Candidates must have completed a nursing assistant, EMT, or nursing program and possess a valid CNA or EMT certification. A minimum of two years of experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.
Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies.
Assists in patient/equipment preparation.
Performs follow-up actions as directed.
Documents clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols.
Prepares patients for transportation to other departments/areas.
Assists patient to cart or wheelchair.
Has patient chart readily available.
Transports patient when STAT or as necessary.
Completes hospital forms per protocol.
Assists with patient admission, discharge and transfer.
Settles patients appropriately (includes positioning).
Orients patient to room/routine to include Care Advisor and Virtually Integrated Care (VIC).
This position floats to 3 levels of care in 1-2 facilities, is paid a 20% differential (of the base hourly rate).
Job Requirements Required Completion of nursing assistant program, or EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program Minimum of two (2) years experience as an nursing assistant in an acute care hospital setting Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA:AZ) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT:AZ) Basic Life Support - CPR, (AHA BLS)
