About the role

The MRI Technologist operates high field strength magnets to produce quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities include positioning patients, starting IVs, administering contrast media, and evaluating images for technical quality.

Get to Know Your Team: Hillcrest Hospital South is a full-service 180-bed hospital providing a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services using state-of-the-art technology in a friendly community setting.

Consistent performance has helped the hospital be nationally recognized for patient safety.

Perform complex tasks associated with operating high field strength magnets and equipment to produce quality images.

Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during the scan.

Position patients and start IVs as needed.

Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration.

Evaluate images for technical quality, exposure, and transmit to PACS.

Operate the scanner to provide cross-sectional images and data for medical treatment and diagnosis.

Job Requirements: Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology training program in a school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA or equivalent MRI School.

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or American Registry of MRI Technologist (ARMRIT).

BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements: Advanced certification in MRI.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and hold ARRT or ARMRIT certification. BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire, and advanced MRI certification is preferred.
