Overview Reprocesses instruments using high level disinfection (HLD) or sterilization techniques according to manufacturers instructions for use (IFU).
Work is completed in a collaborative, team based environment.
Performs biological and chemical testing on HLD and sterilization equipment.
Monitors instrument and supply inventory.
Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations.
Demonstrates commitment to maintaining and improving departmental/unit standards of care and practice.

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least one year of relevant experience. Previous experience in a hospital sterile processing, materials management, or GI lab setting is required.
If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination.
If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.
Reprocesses instruments using high level disinfection or sterilization techniques. Maintains an adequate supply of sterile and non-sterile supplies for the department. Maintains an adequate inventory of surgical instruments. Performs daily biological and chemical testing, changes graphs and tapes and maintains records on all sterilizers. Performs secretary/clerical functions. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations.
HS diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years experience 1 year experience required and 2 years preferred. Previous experience as a sterile technician in another area of a hospital such as materials management or GI lab. The pay range for this job begins at $20.27/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience. Remote Work/Work from Home This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
