Job Description

Shift: Midnights Join our dynamic laboratory team at Henry Ford Health, serving the vibrant communities of Macomb County. Located near the beautiful Lake St. Clair, our facility is a high-acuity hub that blends suburban comfort with easy access to Detroit. As part of our team, you¿ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our fast-growing community, supported by cutting-edge technology and a collaborative environment. Our department is committed to precision, innovation, and patient-centered care, making it an ideal place to grow your career while making a meaningful impact. Role Overview: As a Med Lab Technician, you'll perform essential procedures on blood and other body fluids, using manual techniques and advanced laboratory instruments. Working under the supervision of laboratory technologists and leaders, you'll ensure accurate and timely results that directly support patient care. Your role is critical in maintaining the high standards of our lab and contributing to the overall health of our community. What You Will Do Perform select procedures on blood and other body fluids using manual techniques or laboratory instruments. Utilize information systems to ensure accurate and efficient processing of specimens. Conduct phlebotomy as needed, maintaining patient comfort and safety. Follow defined protocols and work under the supervision of laboratory technologists and leaders. Contribute to the maintenance of a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science. Alternatively, successful completion of an Associates or Bachelor's degree with at least 5 college courses from specified sciences or Completion of a military 50-60 week technician program meeting CLIA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

MLT certification from ASCP or NCA.

Requirements

Requires an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science, or equivalent military training. ASCP or NCA certification is preferred.
