About the role

Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using CT equipment while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide accurate imaging and maintain detailed documentation in electronic health records.

Job Details CT | Beavercreek | Full-time | First Shift Responsibilities & Requirements The CT Tech performs diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.

This role ensures patient safety, comfort, and privacy while adhering to regulatory standards and established protocols.

Performs other duties as assigned.

All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Associate's degree or equivalent required).

Required Work Experience Clinical experience gained through completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Additional 1-2 years of CT or diagnostic radiology experience preferred but not required.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [ARRT (R)].

Valid Ohio Radiographer license issued by the Ohio Department of Health.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained prior to or within 90 days of hire).

ARRT (CT) certification required within 12 months of hire if not already held.

Skills Proficiency in operating CT scanners and related imaging equipment.

Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and imaging protocols.

Ability to administer oral and intravenous contrast media safely.

Strong communication and patient education skills.

Attention to detail for accurate documentation and image quality.

Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare teams.

Basic computer skills for electronic health record (EHR) documentation.

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Essential Functions Prepare and position patients for CT procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and optimal image quality.

Operate CT scanners and related equipment according to established protocols and safety standards.

Administer oral and intravenous contrast agents as ordered, monitoring for adverse reactions and responding appropriately.

Obtain and verify patient clinical history and relevant information to support accurate imaging and diagnosis.

Monitor patients during procedures, providing reassurance and responding to needs or complications.

Review images for technical quality and completeness, repeating scans as necessary to meet diagnostic requirements.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of procedures, patient information, and contrast administration in the electronic health record.

Perform routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.

Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and patient privacy standards in all aspects of work.

Collaborate with radiologists, referring providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and clarify imaging needs.

Participate in quality assurance activities and continuing education to maintain competencies and certifications.

Assist in training or orienting new staff or students as requested.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences or related field. One or more years of experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital or outpatient setting. ARRT (CT) certification at time of hire.

Requirements

Requires a degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program and current ARRT(R) registration and Ohio Radiographer license. BLS certification is required, and ARRT(CT) certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
