Make a Difference Community Heart and Vascular has an excellent opportunity available within our Heart & Vascular team located in Indianapolis, IN.

The OR Specialty Coord CSFA, serves as a member of the surgical team, working with surgeons, anesthesiologists/CRNAs, registered nurses and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care, and assuming appropriate responsibilities in the preoperative arena i.e. scrubbing, assist scrubbing, assist circulating setting up, breaking down surgical procedures as well as pulling putting away supplies, equipment and environmental service duties.

OR Specialty Coordinator CSFA- float will be responsible for assisting vascular surgery at all Community locations.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications CST Specialty Coordinator: Coordinates with all surgeons within specialty to meet needs.

Anticipates needs of surgeon prior to first case – obtains preference list, works with surgeon office to determine needs.

Remains familiar with future surgery schedules and resulting needs.

Serves as main resource for all other OR staff for surgeons and procedures within specialty.

Participates in the orientation of new staff.

Presents an educational offering specific to specialty a minimum of once a year.

Will coordinate arrangement of instruments/equipment through facility and instrument room.

Routinely communicates specialty issues with OR staff.

Materials/Supplies: Works with materials staff on the pulling of cases within specialty.

Meets with specialty appropriate vendors.

Keeps Materials and Facility/Equipment Team Leaders involved in trials and new supplies/instruments/equipment as needed.

Will assist with supply ordering needs.

Certified Surgical First Assist from NBSTSA required Graduation from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program OR graduation from an NCCT-authorized school with completion of a GED or high school diploma.

Associate degree required.

Graduates of a Military Training Program in Surgical Technology that is not accredited must provide a copy of a DD214 stating the base where the program was completed and a graduation certification.

1 year of Operating Room experience required Strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skill are required Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task with a high degree of responsibility, responsiveness Takes direction well but also self directed and motivated

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) certification from NBSTSA and possess an associate degree. At least one year of operating room experience is required along with strong communication and organizational skills.
