Additional duties include managing send-out lab requisitions, troubleshooting laboratory computer systems, and assisting with team training and supply inventory.

include but are not limited to: Specimen receipt, identification verification, processing, and storage, using lab automation, processing and prepares any specimens to send-out to referral labs, prepares and packages all mail out kits, while ensuring and maintaining positive patient identification throughout the process. Additional responsibilities may include maintaining and documenting send-out lab requisitions and billing, contributing to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), assisting with training new team members, assisting consultants with specimen collection and research, triaging specimens according to level of complexity and patient history, reagent preparation, and maintaining work unit supply inventory levels. Performs order entry/troubleshooting in the laboratory computer system and electronic health record, retrieves and verifies patient identification on specimens using appropriate sources, conducts resolution of pre-analytic specimen-related issues. May respond to a high volume of phone calls seeking laboratory testing/order information or add-ons. Must be able to learn and utilize multiple computer systems and have the ability to deal effectively with people in stressful situations. Works with minimal supervision and attention to detail is essential. Must be able to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off-shifts, holiday, and weekend work assignments. Other job-related duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required (G.E.D.). Minimum of two (2) years of specimen processing and handling, accessioning, clinical lab, lab testing, and/or other relevant lab or clinical experience.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of relevant clinical laboratory experience. Proficiency in computer systems, medical terminology, and the ability to work flexible shifts including weekends are required.
