The therapist will provide clinical services, including individual and family psychotherapy, to children removed by family court and their identified family members or foster families to manage trauma and address permanence issues. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, conducting specialized risk assessments, consulting with staff, and maintaining regular communication with birth families regarding progress.
A Master's degree in counseling along with one year of related experience is required for this role. Professional licensure is mandatory, though Limited Permits such as LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, and LCAT are accepted, alongside a valid NYS driver's license.
Provide assessment, treatment planning, and general counseling for children in foster care Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children and families, when needed Conduct specialized risk assessments Consult with other staff involved in the care of the child and families Participate in supervision Provide direct therapy to clients based on the agreed upon service targets. Have regular communication/meeting with birth families around progress/problems of children in care and how to support them in and work towards permanency. Provide regular case documentation for all children and families on workload including assessments, progress notes and treatment planning. Requirements and Education: Master's degree in social work or related mental health field with one year of related experience required. Professional licensure required: (LMSW with 3 years' experience, LMHC/LMHC-D, LMFT/LMFT-D, LCAT, LCSW) 3 years post Masters' Degree with limited permit accepted.
