The role is responsible for planning, administering, and directing speech therapy services for patients across various units including cardiac, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, pulmonary, and medical-surgical areas. This includes educating patients and families on diet modifications and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team on the plan of care.
A Master's degree in speech-language pathology is required, along with a New York State SLP license and registration, and current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association. Prior hospital experience, experience with EPIC, experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies, and experience with the trach/vent population are also required or preferred.
