The Medical Lab Technologist performs diagnostic testing related to medical disorders by preparing specimens, running various tests across sections like Hematology, Chemistry, and Microbiology, and analyzing, reporting, and recording the results. This role involves conducting advanced procedures specific to laboratory sections and ensuring accurate documentation and quality control functions.
Candidates must possess a 4-year Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science field, including specific semester hours in biology and chemistry, and hold MLS or MT certification from a nationally accredited organization like ASCP. Required experience is three to six months to gain professional knowledge in Medical Technology and expertise in equipment operation and clinical diagnostic testing procedures.
