The Pharmacy Technician processes and fills prescription orders under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, assisting in the performance and delivery of professional services. They are also responsible for monitoring patient profiles, records, invoices, and inventory levels to ensure optimal pharmacy efficiency.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with successful completion of a board-approved structured training program and passing a board-approved technician examination, including at least 600 hours of practical experience. The role requires knowledge of pharmacy operations, good computer and mathematical skills, and maintaining an active pharmacy technician license with required continuing education.
Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, including pharmacy services. Our pharmacy department provides medication, healthcare equipment, vaccinations, medical supplies, and other medical services to patients in our service areas.
ICCHC is currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician for its Leesville, Louisiana location.
The Pharmacy Technician operates under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Director and is responsible for performing the administrative and service-based duties that keep our customers satisfied. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, able to multitask, and enjoys working with customers.
The Pharmacy Technician is a member of the pharmacy team. This position is responsible for processing and filling prescription orders under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. They provide assistance to the pharmacist in the performance and delivery of professional services. They monitor patient profiles, records, invoices, and inventory levels to ensure that the pharmacy is running at optimal efficiency.
This position requires the ability to ensure the efficient operation of the Pharmacy Department.
One must have knowledge of the various aspects of pharmacy operations. The job requires good computer and mathematical skills. One must also demonstrate good ethical judgment in investigating and resolving problems.
Working is primarily sedentary. Large amounts of time may be spent reading or using PC. Occasional local and national travels.
